Public Art
Fairbank Village BIA along with other supporters of the community have created new art and mural projects within the area with help from partners such as the City of Toronto. These projects contribute to a sense of place, add vibrancy and make for an enjoyable experience for pedestrians.
Residents and Visitors: Tag us in your selfies and photos in front of local murals! Check out the virtual art tour bellow or directly in your browser using this link.
Local Artists: We would love to hear from you so we can keep your information on file as opportunities come up! Please follow us on social media too!
Member Business and Property Owners: Do you have a wall in need of cheer? Would you like to draw some positive attention to your location? Please contact us if you are interested in learning more. The City of Toronto has a $7,500 Outdoor Mural & Street Art Grant for BIAs which are usually due at the end of March. The BIA can apply to this grant, and if successful manage the project for you at no cost.
Alternatively, the City of Toronto offers the StART Support Mural Program to help property owners clean up graffiti by providing materials for the creation of art murals. The City can provide up to $2,000 for spray paint, paint caps, exterior paint, or some limited other application materials. For large-scale projects, there is also the City’s StART Partnership Program.
