Five Reasons Why You Need to Attend Fairbank Summerfest

Part of the formula to having a great summer in Toronto just is attending street festivals! The Fairbank Village BIA is proud to present our X annual Fairbank Summerfest. It takes place on June 22nd and June 23rd.

Here are 5 reasons why YOU need to attend Fairbank Summerfest this year:

#1 - Pedestrian Takeover!

Eglinton Avenue West is open to pedestrians only! Vehicle and transit traffic is redirected to allow people to take over the streets to enjoy the festival in a unique and fun manor. And trust us, it is not very often that a major road in Toronto is allowed to be closed so we are thrilled for it to be transformed into a street festival celebration!

#2 - FREE

Zip. Zilch. Zero. It doesn’t get any cheaper than that!  There is no cost to attend our festival. It is inclusive and accessible to everyone of all ages. We do encourage you to sample and indulge in many of the offerings or services that vendors or member businesses, and hope you will come back after the festival to our community (if you aren’t already from the area!).

#3 - Supporting Local Businesses

Discover or rediscover new local small businesses. When we shop and support local, all year round, it significantly helps the community economy. Street festivals are an incredible way to be able to take the time to explore and meet the business owners!

#4 - Pet Idol

We aren’t lying when we say that there is something for everyone at Fairbank Summerfest! Pet Idol returns on Saturday, June 22nd at 12pm, sponsored by Rens Depot, Woodbridge. Owners are invited to bring their pet to showcase it’s talents. Does it make noise on command? Perform a neat trick? Show us and you can win prizes! Pet Idol details can be found here.

#5 - Entertainment

There is so much entertainment! From rides to music to foosball! We take pride in providing great programming.

The main stage, closer to Eglinton Ave W and Dynevor Rd, has a full day of musical programing starting from 12pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.

Test out your foosball skills! When was the last time you played? Whether it was last night, last month, last year or even last decade, roll up your sleeves and have fun!

Hop on the Fairbank Village Train or take a seat on one of the rides that will be taking over the middle of the street. We know that these elements will put thousands of smiles on peoples faces!
