Fairbank Village Joins the Main Street Art Challenge

The STEPS initiative, presented by RBC Royal Bank, launched the I heART Main Street Art Challenge, a temporary art project throughout the city to bring together the community through DIY art installations.

Fairbank Village participated in the Art Challenge with two exciting art installations.

Local PATCH Artist Sue Todd created inspiring sidewalk decals that convey the message that Fairbank Village is open to shop safely in a fun and family friendly way. These decals, inspired by medieval woodcuts, features the Fairbank Village BIA logo of a tree, representing growth and optimism during this difficult time. The illustrated door opening on the tree alludes to the area being open for business.

Local PATCH Artist Wandy Cheng crafted this vibrant window mural, featuring local storefronts and popular fruits often seen in Filipino, Italian, Jamaican, Portuguese and Spanish cuisines, which Fairbank Village is known for. This mural aims to encourage a strong sense of community by shopping locally.

Check out the mural at 2342 Dufferin Street!
